Chinese Ambassador Chen Hai pays a call on U Zaw Myint Maung, Vice Chairman of NLD and Chief Minister of Mandalay Region

On 23 September, H.E. Mr. Chen Hai, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, paid a call on U Zaw Myint Maung, Vice Chairman of National League for Democracy and Chief Minister of Mandalay Region. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations between the two countries and two parties as well as bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Chen Hai said that in recent years, China-Myanmar relations have further developed and the Chinese Communist Party has maintained close contacts with the National League for Democracy. The two countries are jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor. Mandalay Region, located at the junction of the east and west lines of China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, has distinct geographical advantages. China is willing to work together with Myanmar to strengthen exchanges of experience on governance and promote the building of the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, pushing forward China-Myanmar Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership to make new achievements.

U Zaw Myint Maung warmly congratulated on the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China. He expressed admiration for China's development achievements and thanked China for its contribution to promoting peace and development in Myanmar. The Myanmar government and the National League for Democracy attach great importance to the development of Myanmar-China relations. They are willing to strengthen exchanges of experience on governance with China, promote the building of Belt and Road Initiative and China-Myanmar Economic Corridor and push forward the cooperation between Mandalay Region and China.
