Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar briefs Myanmar on the ASEAN-China Special Summit to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations

Myanmar Foreign Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin met with the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai on November 22 in Nay Pyi Taw.

On behalf of the Chinese leadership, Ambassador Chen Hai briefed the Myanmar side on the ASEAN-China Special Summit to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations and spoke highly of Myanmar's active role as the country coordinator for China-ASEAN relations in the preparatory process of the Summit and its success. He expressed China's willingness to work with ASEAN countries, including Myanmar, to fully implement the consensus of the Summit and promote more significant development of China-ASEAN relations.

On behalf of Myanmar's leadership, Foreign Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin thanked the Chinese side for the briefing, saying that the ASEAN-China Special Summit to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations was of great significance and that Myanmar was pleased with its success. The declaration of a comprehensive strategic partnership between ASEAN and China will elevate the ASEAN-China relations to a higher level and promote regional peace and development. Myanmar has made due efforts for the outcome of the Summit and will continue to play its role as the country coordinator and work to promote new progress in ASEAN-China relations.
