On March 31st, the 2026 China-Myanmar Martial Arts Exchange Symposium was held in Yangon. Representatives from all sectors of both countries, including culture, sports, education, Buddhism, and business, attended the event.

Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar Li Qianguo, President of the Myanmar Wushu Federation Li Bobo, Director of the China Cultural Center in Yangon Xiang Jianbo, Chairman of the Myanmar Writers’ Association U Ohn Maung, Writer U Min Min Htike, Chairman of the China-Myanmar Economic Cooperation and Development Promotion Association Li Fuquan, Researcher of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies U Thant Htet Sint, and representatives from some Chinese language schools delivered remarks, respectively. They explored the positive role of martial arts in promoting the sustained friendship between China and Myanmar. During the symposium, the promotional video of the “International Taijiquan Day” was screened. Three instructors from the Henan Shaolin Temple Zen Medicine and Kungfu Institute, the YuDe Education Center, and the Myanmar International Education Center showcased the Shaolin Kung Fu “Yi Jin Jing (Muscle-Tendon Change Classic)”, Kaimen Bajiquan (Open-door Bajiquan), and basic techniques of martial arts. They received rounds of applause from the guests present.

The symposium was hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, the Myanmar Wushu Federation, and the China Media Group, with vigorous support from the China Cultural Center in Yangon and the Bowen Chinese School in Myanmar.
