Visa for Hong Kong SAR of China

1. Myanmar citizens holding valid Myanmar diplomatic or official passports could travel to Hong Kong SAR visa-free for a short visit and stay in Hong Kong SAR for no more than 14 days.   

2. For citizens of other countries, please visit the website of HKSAR Immigration Department to see whether visas are needed to go to HKSAR.

3.  Myanmar citizens holding valid ordinary passports should obtain a visa to go to Hong Kong SAR. Those holding valid Myanmar diplomatic passports who are going to assume the duty at the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Hong Kong SAR should obtain a visa. The Chinese Embassy and Consulate-General in Myanmar could issue visa to diplomats, visitors, seafarers and those who intend to transit through Hong Kong SAR. If the purpose of visit is to work, study, establish or join in any business or to take up residence in the Hong Kong SAR, please apply directly to the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government.

4. Applications for visas for HKSAR can be made to Chinese diplomatic missions abroad or directly to the HKSAR Immigration Department. It is up to the applicant to decide which way to apply. Contact information of the HKSAR Immigration Department is

5. Requirements for Visas for HKSAR

5.1 Documents Required:

5.1.1 Passport: the original passport with validity period exceeding the holder’s expected stay in HKSAR by more than one month and with blank visa pages, and a photocopy of the passport’s information page

5.1.2 The application form for a visa for HKSAR that has been filled out in a truthful, complete, and accurate manner(immd.gov.hk/pdforms/ID1003A.pdf)

5.1.3 One 2-inch, recently-taken, full face, and bare-headed color photo

5.1.4 ID Card

5.2 Processing Time and Fees

Myanmar citizens’ HK visa applications are needed to be referred to the HKSAR Immigration Department, it normally takes 4 weeks and can not be accelerated. The application fee is 30 dollars.
