On October 25, Ambassador Ma Jia met with Myanmar's Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn in Nay Pyi Taw. They exchanged views on China-Myanmar media cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

Ma Jia said that China is advancing systematic reforms in the media sector by accelerating the establishment of a multi-channel and multi-dimensional communication framework according to the plans of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. China is willing to strengthen media and people-to-people exchanges and cooperation with Myanmar to foster closer bonds between the two peoples.

U Maung Maung Ohn said that China and Myanmar share a longstanding "pauk-phaw" friendship, and Myanmar stands ready to work with China to boost Myanmar-China friendship and create a favorable environment of public opinion for cooperation between the two countries.
