On August 9th, the opening ceremony of the “Weekly Cinema, Shared Stories” Chinese Film Exhibition, guided by the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, and jointly organized by the China Cultural Center in Yangon, China Media Group (CMG), and Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV), was held at the National Theatre of Yangon. The event was attended by approximately 600 guests, including U Ye Tint, Deputy Minister for Information of Myanmar, Minister Counselor Shen Dan, Minister Counselor Jia Junjie, representatives of diplomatic envoys from various countries to Myanmar, and guests from various sectors of Myanmar.

U Ye Tint noted that Chinese films and TV works are highly popular in Myanmar and have become an important vehicle for deepening bilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges and enhancing China-Myanmar “Pauk-Phaw” friendship. He expressed hope that films would continue to serve as a bridge to deepen mutual understanding and friendly exchanges between the peoples of both countries.
Shen Dan noted that in recent years, China‑Myanmar film exchanges and cooperation have gathered momentum, marked by a series of notable achievements. China stands ready to implement the Global Civilization Initiative with Myanmar, exploring new avenues for people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation, and injecting fresh impetus into the building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
Guests jointly viewed the opening film Shen Zhou 13, and toured a photo exhibition showcasing the China‑Myanmar intangible cultural heritage.
