On October 13th, the unveiling ceremony for the 24th China-Myanmar Friendship School took place at Basic Education High School No. 2 Latha in Yangon. Over 400 participants attended the event, including Counselor Li Qianguo, U Myo Win Aung, Director-General from the Yangon Region Education Office, U Tin Oo, Chairman of the Myanmar-China Friendship Association, Daw Than Than Sein, Principal of Basic Education High School No. 2 Latha, and teacher and student representatives of the school.

Since 2016, the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar has implemented the China-Myanmar Friendship School program. Twenty-four friendship schools have been inaugurated in 14 cities across Myanmar’s 12 regions, states and union territory. The program has received strong support from the Ministry of Education of Myanmar and all sectors of local society, serving as a vivid testimony to the traditional friendship between Myanmar and China and bilateral educational cooperation.
