On October 17th, the Grand Performance and Awarding Ceremony of M. C. Song Competition 2026, hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, was held at the National Theatre of Yangon. Over 600 participants attended the event, including Myanmar’s Union Minister for Youth Affairs Dr. Maung Thin, Minister Counselor Shen Dan and Counselor Li Qianguo of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, Regional Education Officer of Yangon U Myo Win Aung, and representatives from various local sectors.

Dr. Maung Thin stated that the competition offers young people a platform to showcase their talents and experience Chinese culture, gaining wide popularity among the people of Myanmar. He expressed readiness to work with the Chinese side to jointly promote friendly people-to-people exchanges between the young people of the two countries.

Shen Dan noted that the competition has been successfully held three times. With a growing number of participants and broader social reach, it has built a bridge for closer people-to-people ties between China and Myanmar. China stands ready to deepen cooperation with Myanmar in culture, education, sports, youth and other fields, and to support more young people in growing into inheritors and builders of the cause of China-Myanmar friendship.

Award-winning performances were staged on site, and guests presented awards to the winning contestants and organizations. Meanwhile, experiential displays of Chinese intangible cultural heritage, including tea art, paper-cutting, and lacquer art, were held at the theatre.
