Chinese Government Offered the Third Batch of Medical Supplies to Myanmar

       On 13 May, the hand-over ceremony for the third batch of medical supplies from the Chinese government to assist Myanmar was held in the office building of the Ministry of Health and Sports in Yangon. The medical supplies consist of 150,000 novel coronavirus nucleic acid testing reagents and 18,000 PPEs. Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Chen Hai and Director-General of Department of Medical Research of Ministry of Health and Sports U Zaw Than Htun attended the ceremony.

       Chen Hai said that China and Myanmar are a community with a shared future and we stand together and help each other. The two sides keep close cooperation on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic. After its outbreak in Myanmar, China has provided medical supplies to Myanmar and sent government and military medical teams to Myanmar to help Myanmar fight against the pandemic. Last night, the Chinese military medical team successfully completed its mission and left Yangon for home. China will continue to provide assistance to Myanmar for its endeavor to fight against the pandemic.

       U Zaw Than Htun presented the donation certificate on behalf of the Myanmar government. He spoke highly of China's performance in fighting against the pandemic, sincerely thanked China for donating a large amount of urgently-needed medical supplies to Myanmar in different batches and supporting Myanmar to fight against the pandemic. The Myanmar side will make full use of China's aid to ensure that it plays its due role.
