The Second Batch of Medical Supplies from the Chinese Government arrived in Yangon and was handed over to the Myanmar side

      At the midnight of 26 March, the second batch of medical supplies from the Chinese government to help Myanmar fight the COVID-19 arrived at the Yangon International Airport. At the airport, the Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Chen Hai transferred the supplies to U Zaw Than Htun, Director General of Department of Medical Research of Ministry of Health and Sports.

      U Zaw Than Htun said that Myanmar is grateful for China's assistance which comes in a timely manner. It will alleviate the current shortage of medical supplies in Myanmar and demonstrates the profound Pauk-Phaw friendship of the Chinese government and its people with Myanmar. The Ministry of health and sports will distribute China's medical supplies as soon as possible and make full use of them.

      This batch of medical supplies from the Chinese government consist of 5,000 sets of medical protective clothing, 5,000 medical N95 masks and 200,000 protective masks, totaling 2.45 tons. Not long ago, China provided more than 2,000 COVID-19 test kits and protective masks to Myanmar. Based on Myanmar's actual difficulties and needs, the Chinese side is organizing the transportation of thermometer and other materials to Myanmar and will deliver them at an early date.
