2024-08-29 23:55

On August 28, Ambassador Ma Ja met with Tin Aung San, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defence of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, in Nay Pyi Taw.

Ma Jia said the military-to-military cooperation between Myanmar and China is an important part of China-Myanmar friendly relations, and she will continue to deepen the traditional “pauk-phaw” friendship between China and Myanmar during her term of office and deliver more solid outcomes in the building of the China-Myanmar community with a shared future.

Tin Aung San welcomed Ambassador Ma Jia to assume her new post in Myanmar and reviewed the fruitful results achieved in the state-to-state and military-to-military cooperation between Myanmar and China in recent years. He expressed gratitude for China’s support and assistance in building Myanmar’s defence and military forces. He also stated that Myanmar stands ready to work with China to further enhance the level of cooperation in the defence and security fields.

The two sides exchanged views on security of Chinese projects and personnel in Myanmar and maintaining peace and stability in the China-Myanmar border areas.
