Reminder for Chinese Citizens Traveling to Myanmar to Comply with Myanmar’s New Entry Regulations
2026-07-17 22:15

Recently, Myanmar’s Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) System Project Steering Committee announced that travelers entering Myanmar from international airports of Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay may carry up to two mobile devices per person (including the one in use). Any mobile device that has not yet been registered in the CEIR system must be declared at the airport customs counter following the procedures below: complete the Passenger Declaration Form (PD Form), provide the correct International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number, and submit the following documents at the CEIR one-stop service counter.

1. CEIR Registration Application Form

2. Copy of passport (the passport biographical page with a photo and the page bearing an entry stamp)

3. Boarding pass (original and copy)

4. Passenger Declaration Form (original)

Travelers are required to complete registration in the CEIR system and pay relevant taxes within 30 days (calculated from the date of filling out the PD Form). Failure to do this will incur additional penalties and result in the suspension of network communication services. Each traveler may apply to register up to two mobile devices within one year starting from the date of their initial declaration.

The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar hereby reminds Chinese citizens traveling to Myanmar to comply with the aforesaid regulations and complete declaration and registration in a timely manner to avoid disruptions to your travel in Myanmar.

Travelers may log on to CEIR’s official website at https://www.ceir.gov.mm, enter the mobile device IMEI number to check the device status, and pay relevant taxes and penalties in an electronic manner. Detailed procedures are as follows:
